Laughter is the best medicine - Cancer, communication and comedy

In 2021 psychiatrist Dr Jo Prendergast was diagnosed with breast cancer and writing comedy was one of the main things that helped her through the experience.

Dr Jo shares her experiences as a doctor with a life threatening illness, important public health messaging through the medium of comedy, the things having cancer has taught her and the importance of humour and a sense of purpose as coping mechanisms for tough stuff in our lives. She reflects on iniquities within the healthcare system, providing thought-provoking insight into the reality and aspirations of healthcare.

Talk includes an experiential laughter component!
