Victoria Shepherd
Dr Shepherd is a Principal Research Fellow at the Centre for Trials Research, School of Medicine, Cardiff University, UK where she leads a pioneering programme of research focused on the ethical, legal and methodological issues surrounding research involving adults with impaired capacity to consent (see https://www.capacityconsentresearch.com) and developing interventions to address them. She has extensive experience in clinical trials and other studies where consent complexities are encountered, and has a clinical background in critical care nursing. She is also an expert member of a UK research ethics committee.
