Michael M Burgess
Professor Burgess is Professor Emeritus at the University of British Columbia, Canada. His appointments at UBC have included a research Chair in Medical Bioethics at the W. Maurice Young Centre for Applied Ethics, the Department of Medical Genetics and the School of Population and Public Health. He has held administrative positions as Principal of the College for Interdisciplinary Studies (Vancouver campus) and Associate Provost, Strategy (Okanagan campus). Research over the past 20 years has involved collaboration on over 25 deliberative public engagements in many countries, including Canada, the US and Australia. Informed consent has been another research theme throughout his career.
