Jemima Allen

Jemima is a PhD candidate and medical student in the Department of Paediatrics, Monash University. She has also spent part of her PhD candidature at the Uehiro Oxford Institute (UOI), University of Oxford. Her thesis provides an ethical framework for the use of large language models in medical consent, supervised by Professor Dominic Wilkinson, Professor Julian Savulescu, Associate Professor Brian Earp and Dr Julian Koplin. In 2025, Jemima returned to clinical medicine. She has also been a research assistant at the UOI, working with Professor Dominic Wilkinson, and National University of Singapore, supervised by Professor Julian Savulescu. Jemima completed her BMedSc(Hon) in medical ethics research at the UOI in 2023. Jemima's research interests include AI ethics in medicine, genetics and population health. She has published in practical ethics and public health journals, including the Journal of Medical Ethics, the American Journal of Bioethics, the Journal of Bioethical Inquiry and Allergy.
